Capabilities

SEPARARE – Núcleo de Pesquisa em Cromatografia - is based upon state-of-the-art instrumentation. Our liquid chromatography systems are coupled to a combination of different detectors such as ultraviolet (UV), diode array (DAD), refractive index (RI), circular dichroism (CD), fluorescence (FL), evaporative light scattering (ELSD) and two low resolution mass spectrometers, an IT (ion trap) Esquire 6000 Brucker and a Xevo TQ (triple quadrupole) Waters. Together these instruments and platforms provide state of the art analytical capabilities. We usually configure the different systems to increase application flexibility and efficiency and, thus, to achieve research goals.
SEPARARE offers services to the academic community and external customers. For external customers please get in touch by the e-mail provided for description of the services and prices.

LC IT(MSn)

LC-IT(MSn)

Two Shimadzu LC-20AD Prominence Series UFLC pumps coupled to a BruckerDaltonics Esquire 6000 Ion Trap (IT) equipped with either an electrospray ion source (ESI) or an atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) source. Ion trap technology offers structural confirmation and screening applications with MSn capabilities. This system is equipped with a thermostat-controlled autosampler that can hold up to 105 samples and a 6-way valve for multidimensional liquid chromatography applications.

UPLC TQ

UPLC-TQ

Two Waters ACQUITY UPLC pumps and a Xevo TQ mass spectrometer to deliver sensitivity and robustness for quantitative analytical methods. The instrument is equipped with a binary UPLC Acquity pump and a quaternary UPLC Acquity pump. In addition, the system comes with an autosampler that allows the injection of large volume of samples (up to 5mL) for environmental analysis and a 6- and 10-way valve for multidimensional chromatography applications.

LC UV or LC ELSD

LC-UV or LC-ELSD

Two Shimadzu LC-20AD Series HPLC pumps coupled to a Shimadzu ultraviolet detector (UV-SPD 20A) or an evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD 2000ES) Alltech.
Evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) offers a quasi-universal detection mode suitable for non-volatile analytes that can be detected by mass rather than UV absorbance detection. Any compound having lower volatility than the mobile phase can be detected. The instrument is equipped with a 6-way valve for multidimensional chromatography applications.

LC UV or LC RF

LC-UV or LC-RF

Two Shimadzu LC-10ADvp Series HPLC pumps coupled to a Shimadzu ultraviolet detector (UV-SPD 10AVvp) or a Shimadzu refractive index (RI) detector (RF-10AXL).
The RI detector is the ideal solution for the analysis and quantification of components with limited or no UV absorption, such as alcohols, sugars, sacharides, fatty acids and polymers.
The instrument is equipped with a 6-way valve for multidimensional chromatography applications.

LC UV CD

LC-UV-CD

Two Shimadzu LC-10ATvp Series HPLC pumps coupled to a Shimadzu ultraviolet detector (UV-SPD 10A) and a circular dicroism detector (CD 2095 Plus) Jasco.
The CD detector has been designed for the detection of optically active compounds and is a much more specific technique than OR (Optical Rotation) or Polarimetry.
The instrument is equipped with a 6-way valve for multidimensional chromatography applications.

LC UV

LC-UV

A Shimadzu LC-10ATvp Series HPLC pump and a Shimadzu LC-10AD pump coupled to a Shimadzu ultraviolet detector (UV-SPD 10A).
The instrument is equipped with a 6-way valve for multidimensional chromatography applications.
